Today’s end user storerooms stay lean for product lines with usage needs that are difficult to predict. Electrical product manufacturers and distributors have also reduced inventories on items that are infrequently ordered. 5. When emergency shutdowns occur, does your independent supplier respond 24/7 and ship replacement orders within 24 hours? Compare that to manufacturers lead times of 8 to 12 weeks for vintage equipment and hard-to-find parts.
6. Does your independent supplier deal in “gray market” products? Independent suppliers with sanctioned manufacturer agreements don’t sell “unsanctioned” new electrical equipment or undermine pricing structures.
